Emerson’s argument in “The American Scholar” about American society still holds true today.
Everything he mentions is perfect metaphors on how society thinks.
When he says “Man is not a farmer, or a professor, or an engineer, but he is all”. You shouldn’t put yourself in just one field, man should be well rounded and be all these jobs.
